The Provincial Government has identified the site and secured the land for the construction of a new long-term care facility in Stephenville Crossing.

The new site will sit on approximately six hectares of former Reid Newfoundland Company lands, which were owned by the Town of Stephenville Crossing.

The land was expropriated from the town for the 150-bed project, which will replace the current 114-bed facility constructed in 1976. This land is located on Seal Cove Road, near the site of the current long-term care facility.

Budget 2025 allocated $1 million to support the initial phase of the facility’s replacement, including design work, site preparation and other pre-construction activities.

A Request for Proposals for a technical advisor for the project will be issued in the coming weeks.
