Sir Humphrey Gilbert Building evacuated due to suspicious package

RNC is investigating a suspicious package that was discovered at the Sir Humphrey Gilbert Building in downtown St. John's on Wednesday morning.

The building, located at 165 Duckworth Street, houses federal government offices and was evacuated as police and the St. John's Regional Fire Department responded.

RNC reported that the suspicious package was removed.

The public was asked to avoid the area as the investigation unfolded.

There were no reports of injuries.
