Sheshatshiu RCMP rescues individual from water

Earlier this month two RCMP officers from Sheshatshiu responded to an individual who was experiencing a mental health crisis in the community.

Police received a report of an individual who was walking in a body of water and was crying.

As officers attempted to encourage the individual to come to shore, the person continued to walk further away from the shoreline towards a drop-off and an area of water having a strong current.

Officers entered the water to reach the individual, who was brought safely to the shoreline and was transported for medical care.
