Severe weather leaves thousands without power

Severe weather conditions have left thousands in the dark this evening. Both Newfoundland Power and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro are reporting outages.

There are outages on the Burin Peninsula in Salt Pond - Long Cove, Salt Pond Bridge - Corbin, Winterland Road - Roger's Farm.

In Central there are outages for Pound Cove – Templeman – Newton – Cape Freels, Lumsden – Deadmans Bay, Eastport, Happy Adventure - Savage Cove - Sandy Cove, Musgrave Harbour, Aspen Cove - Ladle Cove, Noggin Cove – Frederickton, Carmanville, Burnside - St. Chad's, Summerford - Route 340, Boyds Cove, Stoneville - Port Albert - Horwood, Twillingate, Cobbs Arm - Toogood Arm, Summerford, Herring Neck - Merritt's Harbour, Cottlesville, Carter's Cove - Virgin Arm - Fairbanks - Hillgrade, Tizzards Harbour - Moreton's Harbour - Chanceport, Comfort Cove-Newstead, Birchy Bay, Lewisporte Junction and Access, Campbellton, Lewisporte-Road to the Isles, Loon Bay-Baytona, and Lewisporte South.

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is reporting outages in Hampden, The Beaches, Change Islands, Deep Bay, Fogo, Fogo Island Centre, Island Harbour, Joe Batts Arm, Seldom Come By, Stag Harbour, and Tilting.
