Several new COVID-19 cases reported over the weekend
There were a total of 12 new cases of COVID-19 across the province this weekend plus 11 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the ship anchored in Conception Bay. This means a total of 12 crew are confirmed COVID-19 positive.
Ten of the cases this weekend and related to travel within Canada. One case is related to international travel and one case is under investigation.
Passengers who travelled on the flights listed below are asked to arrange COVID-19 testing.
Air Canada Flight 8018 that departed Montreal and arrived in St. John’s on Thursday, April 29.
Air Canada Flight 8008 that departed Toronto on Thursday, April 29 and arrived in Deer Lake on Friday, April 30.
There are 51 active cases of COVID-19 in the province. There are two people in hospital due to COVID-19. To date, 133,709 people have been tested.
