Several injured after random home invasions in St. John's
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating two home invasions, which occurred Monday evening in St. John’s. Police believe these attacks were random.
The first call was received at 7:50 pm from a residence on Beaumont Street. Responding officers located the residents of the home in distress and determined a home invasion had just occurred. Officers believe suspects forced their way in to the home after knocking at the entrance. The suspects took the homeowner's vehicle, a 2012 grey Honda Civic JPB 113, and fled the area. The male resident of the home sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Health Science Centre to seek medical attention.
At approximately 8:15 pm, an emergency was reported at a home on Maunder’s Lane in St. John’s. In this incident, officers located the residents inside the home and determined a home invasion had just occurred. The residents of the home sustained injuries and were taken to the Health Science Centre to seek medical attention. Similar to the previous event suspects forced their way inside the home, proceeding to assault the residents of the home before leaving the property.
The suspects are believed to be armed. If you observe the suspect vehicle, do not approach and contact the RNC immediately.
