Schools closing for two days in Central

The Newfoundland and Labrador English School District has announced that schools in the Central Region will be closed to in-class on Tuesday and Wednesday in response to an identified cluster of COVID-19 in the area.

Students will be able to collect any essential learning materials required from their schools on Tuesday and online instruction will be available on Wednesday.

It is expected that in-class instruction will resume on Thursday, May 27. An update will be provided on Wednesday, May 26.

The impact on schools in the area is limited at this time, due partly to a scheduled two-day professional learning session for teachers that led into the weekend. Students were not in school at that time.
