Scheduled blast to occur at Robin Hood Bay on Sunday

A scheduled blast will occur at Robin Hood Bay on Sunday between 2:00 and 3:00 pm.

The blast is happening on the east end of the landfill site in the quarry area. The purpose of the blast is for rock production as part of a recent contract awarded to Capital Ready-Mix.

Before and during the blast there will be marshalls stationed along the East Coast Trail to inform hikers who may be in the area at the time.

The public is asked to avoid this area on Sunday afternoon.

The scheduled blast could change based on weather conditions.
