Scallop Fishery Opens in Area 2

The federal government has announced the opening of the scallop fishery in Scallop Fishing Area 2 this morning.

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans said the fishery opened at 6 a.m., allowing harvesters to begin fishing in the designated area.

Fish harvesters are being encouraged to review the latest fishery notices and regulations before heading to sea. DFO publishes notices for all commercial fisheries through its online Fishery Notices system.
