Salmon Anglers Reminded to Submit Angling Return Forms

Salmon anglers in Newfoundland and Labrador are being reminded to submit their salmon angling return forms to help support the conservation and long-term management of Atlantic salmon.

The forms collect information on whether licence holders fished, where they fished, how much time they spent angling and the number of salmon they retained or released.

All salmon licence holders are encouraged to submit a return, even if they did not fish, did not retain any salmon or were unsuccessful.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada says complete and accurate information helps inform decisions related to salmon conservation and future angling opportunities.

Returns can be submitted by mail using the address provided on the licence log card, by email or online through Fisheries and Oceans Canada's Salmon Angling Return Form.

The salmon angling season closed on September 7 for most of the Island of Newfoundland and closes September 15 in Labrador.
