Royal Newfoundland Constabulary investigating hit and run collision in St. John’s

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a hit-and-run collision in the area of Pennywell Road and Morris Avenue in St. John's.


Emergency crews received the call at around 9:05 p.m. on Friday, September 19, reporting a single-vehicle collision with a power pole on Pennywell Road.


Police say that the driver of the vehicle had left the scene.


The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Collision analyst attended the scene along with the Forensic Identification section.


The road between Morris Avenue and Smith Avenue was closed as police investigated the cause of the collision. The vehicle involved sustained significant damage.
