Road closures planned for Battle of the Atlantic parade in St. John’s

Motorists in St. John's are being advised of several road closures Sunday to accommodate the annual Battle of the Atlantic Parade and Ceremony in the downtown area.


Closures will begin in the morning and continue through midday as the parade and ceremony take place.


Queen’s Road, between Long’s Hill and Victoria Street, will be closed from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.


Church Hill and a portion of Duckworth Street, from Church Hill to Cochrane Street, will be closed from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.


Water Street, between Prescott Street and Cochrane Street, will be closed from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.


Additional closures will be in effect around noon, including Ayre’s Cove from noon to 12:30 p.m., and Harbour Drive between Ayre’s Cove and Clift Baird’s Cove during the same time period.


Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the event, but drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes.
