The RNC in St. John's has made an arrest and seized a large quantity of drugs and weapons.
Last month, police executed a search warrant at a residence in the west end of the city and seized drugs, paraphernalia, and other items connected to drug trafficking.
Police seized an undisclosed amount of cocaine, 500 prescription pills, $3760 in cash, a shotgun and a handgun, ammunition, two stun guns, bear mace and pepper spray, plated body armour, and a money counter.
The investigation resulted in the arrests of two individuals, a 34-year-old male and a 34-year-old female, both from St. John’s.
The 34-year-old male was arrested on two outstanding warrants; he was held for court. The 34-year-old female was arrested and released pending further investigation.
The approximate street value of the drugs seized is $15,000.
In late November 2022, the RNC launched an investigation into street-level drug trafficking.
