RNC respond to three armed robberies in St. John's

The RNC in the metro area were kept busy with several armed robberies overnight.


At 7:02 pm there was a robbery at Subway on Water Street. A male wearing a grey hoodie, blue surgical mask and blue jeans entered the business demanding money before fleeing the area, heading east on Water Street.


At 10:27 pm there was an armed robbery at the Laurie Club on Hamilton Avenue in St. John’s. Patrons in the club stated that a male believed to be in his 30s entered the club wearing a medical mask and carrying a sawed-off shotgun.


The male left in a two-door, dark-coloured car. The suspect was wearing a red hat and reflective jacket.


Finally at 12:08 am, there was an attempted armed robbery at the Mingles Lounge, 1440 CBS Highway in CBS. The same suspect male from The Laurie Club armed robbery, approached the door of the lounge and attempted to gain entry, however, the door was locked. The male was dressed in the same clothing as the previous armed robbery, wearing a red hat and reflective jacket and was carrying a sawed-off shotgun. The male was unable to gain entry but discharged the gun while pointing it at the lock of the door, the male left in a dark-colored 4-door car.
