RNC & RCMP hand out nearly 60 speeding tickets

On Wednesday the RNC and RCMP teamed up to conduct enforcement on the TCH near Butter Pot Park.

Over the course of the afternoon, police issued nearly 60 tickets for speeding.

A 27-year-old Green’s Harbour man had a Canada-wide driving prohibition. He was arrested during the traffic stop and released to appear in court in St. John’s in January.

A 17-year-old Clarenville teen was stopped for travelling 159 km/h. A $520.00 fine and a license suspension were issued and the vehicle was seized and impounded.
