RNC officer hit in head while questioning suspect

On June 7th at approximately 8:30 PM RNC attended a residence to speak to a suspect of an assault investigation.

While speaking to the officer the suspect became assaultive and struck the officer in the head area with a hard object.

The suspect was arrested for the original assault charge and with assaulting the officer with a weapon. The 36 year old female was held for court.

The officer did seek medical attention for her injuries but are not believed serious in nature.
