RNC lay more charges against man involved in violent events on the Northeast Avalon


The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has laid additional charges in connection with a string of related violent events on the Northeast Avalon last year.


The accused, 20-year-old Robert Belbin, faces new firearms charges including uttering threats, discharging a firearm, and other firearms-related offences in relation to a shooting event in the area of Galway, which occurred on May 13.


Charges of assault with a weapon, discharging a firearm, and other firearms-related offences have been laid in connection with a shooting event on Goldfinch Drive in Paradise, which occurred on May 21, and multiple firearms-related offences in relation to an incident in the area of Baker Street in St. John’s, which occurred on June 5.


Belbin is currently in custody and will appear in Provincial Court.
