RNC launch investigation into serious collision at St. John's Pharmacy

The RNC has launched an investigation in relation to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at a Shoppers Drug Mart in St. John's.

On Saturday afternoon police responded to a report of a collision that occurred in the parking lot area of a Shoppers Drug Mart located on Lemarchant Road.

A vehicle had driven into the building at that location and collided with a pedestrian in the process. The pedestrian, a 42-year-old female from Mount Pearl, was outside the entrance of the building when the collision occurred.

The female pedestrian remained trapped beneath the vehicle involved, which had come to rest inside the building. The operator of the vehicle, a 77-year-old male from St. John’s, was located inside the vehicle at the scene. The male operator was not physically injured as a result of the collision.

The pedestrian was eventually freed and transported to the Health Science Centre with serious injuries.

Police are requesting information or video footage of the incident.
