RNC issue speeding tickets in construction zones on the west coast

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary on the west coast have issued multiple speeding tickets in construction zones recently.

Following multiple reports this week related to speeding in construction zones in Massey Drive and Corner Brook, police have issued multiple tickets to offending drivers. With double the fine amount for a construction zone, the expense to the operator can be up to $1170.00.

Police continue to monitor construction zones throughout communities. Anyone who observes dangerous driving practices, or has information about unsafe or illegal motor vehicle operation, is asked to report it to the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
