RNC investigating vehicle fire in St. John’s

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is seeking the public’s assistance following a suspicious vehicle fire in St. John’s early Friday morning.
Police say officers responded to a report of a vehicle on fire on Portugal Cove Road at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Friday, December 26. The vehicle was destroyed by the blaze, which investigators have since deemed suspicious.
The RNC is asking anyone who was in the area between midnight and 1:00 a.m. to check for possible video footage, including CCTV, dash camera, or cellphone recordings. Investigators are particularly interested in footage from Portugal Cove Road between the Holiday Inn and Elizabeth Avenue, as well as the areas of Gooseberry Lane and Gooseberry Place.
