August 18, 2025 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is investigating following a weekend shooting in the town of Paradise.

Operational Patrol Services responded to a commercial area on the corner of Carlisle Drive and Topsail Road just after 2 a.m. yesterday (Aug. 17) where they determined a number of shots had been fired. A suspect vehicle fled the area before police arrived. There were no injuries, however, there was damage reported to multiple vehicles and one business.

This is believed to be a targeted event.

The suspect vehicle, a black Ford Edge, was recovered abandoned in downtown St. John’s around 5:30 a.m. today.

The RNC Major Crime Unit is seeking any information, or video footage from the area of Topsail Road to the Kenmount Road Interchange, and Carlisle Drive between 1:15 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Anyone with information to assist the investigation is asked to contact the RNC at 709-729-8000.
