
RNC Investigating Hit and Run Collision In St. John’s

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is seeking the public’s help as it investigates a hit and run involving an electric scooter in St. John’s.
Just before noon today, Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a collision involving an electric scooter on New Pennywell Road in St. John’s. The suspect vehicle had left the scene prior to police arrival.
The 37-year-old male operator of the scooter was taken to hospital to be treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
New Pennywell Road between Lions Road and Beothuck Street were closed as police investigated. Traffic was detoured up Beothuck Street and back onto New Pennywell Road.
RNC collision analysts are seeking any information, including video footage (CCTV, dash camera, cell phone), from the area of New Pennywell Road between Brier Avenue and Barkham Street, between 11:30 a.m. and noon today.
