RNC Investigating Assault & Possible Weapons Offence at Restaurant

The RNC are investigating an assault and possible weapons offence at a restaurant in downtown St. John’s, which occurred overnight.

On Thursday morning officers responded to a restaurant located on Water Street in St. John’s following a report of a disturbance at the establishment. On arrival, officers located a male who had visible injuries. The other person involved in the disturbance had left the area prior to police arrival.

The responding officers’ investigation into the incident revealed that the injured male was assaulted by another male inside the restaurant. The suspect male also pulled out what is believed to be a firearm, pointed the weapon at the victim, and then used the weapon to assault the victim.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
