RNC charges man after several robberies

A 22-year-old St. John’s man has been arrested following a string of armed robberies that occurred on the Northeast Avalon.
In the early morning hours of Tuesday and Wednesday, three convenience stores in St. John’s and Paradise were robbed. There were no injuries reported, but the man was able to get away with an unknown quantity of cash.
The man faces 20 charges that include:
Three counts of robbery with an offensive weapon
Three counts of disguise with intent
Three counts of possession of a weapon with a dangerous purpose
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Flight from police
Escaping lawful custody
Eight breaches of a court order
The accused is being held for court today.
