The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a man who sped by officers conducting radar enforcement.
Shortly before 2:30 a.m. today, officers initiated a traffic stop on an eastbound vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway near Steady Brook after the vehicle was spotted travelling 185 km/hr. A pursuit was terminated in the interest of public safety. Officers later located the suspect vehicle at a residence on Dogwood Drive and charged the driver with flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
The 22-year-old male also had his vehicle seized, license suspended, and was ticketed for speeding. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
