RNC Arrest Man for Break and Enter

St. John’s, NL) December 19, 2024 –The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has arrested a Paradise man for break and enter and recovered previously reported stolen property.


Operational Patrol Services responded to a residential break and enter in the early morning hours of Sept. 12 in the area of Carlisle Drive. Neighbours reported suspicious activity at a home under construction and indicated the suspects had fled the area on a side-by-side prior to police arrival.


Investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Paradise Road yesterday (Dec. 18) and charged 49-year-old Craig Lynch with break and enter, and possession of stolen property.


The search uncovered an all-terrain vehicle that had been reported stolen from a nearby property on Dec. 9 as well as an industrial mower dating back to a theft in 2022.


The search also uncovered 114 pieces of explosives and detonators. The RNC’s Explosives Disposal Unit has since performed a controlled detonation.


Lynch has also been charged in connection with a break and enter, theft of a motor vehicle, operation of a conveyance while prohibited, and breach of court order in relation to a break and enter that occurred in Portugal Cove – St. Philips on November 20.


Further charges are anticipated.
