The RNC has arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery at a service station in St. John’s earlier this week.

Police say officers with Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a robbery at a service station on Topsail Road around 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2.

Investigators allege a suspect presented a weapon, demanded cash and cigarettes from an employee and fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported.

The RNC’s General Investigation Unit took over the case and identified Jeffrey Earle as the suspect. Police say he was arrested Wednesday night, Feb. 4, in the Cowan Heights area.

Earle is charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and being unlawfully at large. He was held in custody to appear in court.
