The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture is reminding residents about the dangers associated with spring grass burning.

Extreme caution should be exercised as grass fires burn hot and fast, and can spread quickly.

There have been two reported grass fires in the province so far this week.

People should also be aware that burning grass in the spring is a destructive and dangerous practice that increases the risks associated with wildland fires.
