The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation is encouraging residents to stay home and explore this summer.
Cabot Tower has a light that reads "HOME" to kick off the campaign.
Stay Home Year 2020 represents a place and a state of mind. It represents an entire province.
Advertising is featured on television, radio, digital and social media platforms, to encourage residents to spend their vacation at home in 2020.
Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism, in conjunction with the Agency of Record, Target Marketing and Communications, developed this dynamic campaign to run over a 10-week period at a cost of approximately $450,000.
The tourism industry generates over $1.14 billion in visitor spending each year, and is responsible for over 20,000 jobs, representing 2,700 businesses in Newfoundland and Labrador.
