Residents Escape House Fire in St. John’s on Friday Evening

Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department were called to a home on Mundy Pond Road near Coefield Street just after 5:40 p.m. Friday for a reported structure fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene and laid an attack line to attack the fire, which was located and knocked down by firefighters. The fire was reportedly contained to the basement area of the home.

Three people and two pets were reportedly home at the time of the fire; they were not injured as a result of the fire.

Traffic on Mundy Pond Road between Coefield Street and Blackmarsh Road was closed as emergency personnel attended the scene.
