Regionalization Discussed at Premier’s Forum

Regionalization was on the table at the 2021 Premier’s Forum on Local Government that was held in Corner Brook on Friday.

Premier Furey was joined by Krista Lynn Howell, Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs and approximately 50 delegates representing communities throughout the province as well as representatives of Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador and the Professional Municipal Administrators.

Discussions focused on regionalization and delegates helped determine a model for regional governance and on what elements will be required for it to be successfully implemented in this province.

Premier Furey said, "collaboration and sharing services is a way to build communities that are vibrant and strong."
