A 24-year-old man was ticketed by Burin Peninsula RCMP for excessive speeding yesterday.

An officer on patrol observed the vehicle going more than twice the posted speed limit.

Just before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police observed a vehicle travelling in excess of 180 km/hr in a 90 km/hr zone on Route 210 north of Monkstown. A traffic stop was conducted; the driver was ticketed for excessive speeding and his license was suspended.
