RCMP seek to identify woman following incident in Stephenville

Police in Stephenville are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman seen in distress on Friday morning.
Bay St. George RCMP said officers received multiple reports around 10:05 a.m. on March 27, 2026, of a woman walking near the intersection of St. Clare Avenue and Gallant Street. Witnesses told police the woman appeared to be in distress, was partially clothed and was seen running away from an unknown man.
The woman, described as small with blond hair, left the area before officers arrived. According to witnesses, she then departed in a dark-coloured pickup truck driven by another unknown female.
Police say they are working to confirm the woman’s identity and ensure her well-being as soon as possible.
Anyone with information that could help identify the woman, including surveillance or dash camera footage, is asked to contact Bay St. George RCMP at 709-432-2440.
