RCMP & RNC Issued Nearly 3 Dozen Tickets for Driving Infractions

A joint traffic enforcement initiative between the RNC and RCMP resulted in nearly three dozen tickets being issued.
The initiative was conducted on the Trans-Canada Highway near Butter Pot Park.
Police primarily ticketed drivers for speeding and forms of distracted driving. A number of drivers were ticketed for excessive speeds. One incident saw a 19-year-old Harbour Main man operating a car, travelling at 188 km/h. He was issued a $520 speeding ticket, his license was suspended, and his vehicle was seized and impounded.
Motorists can expect to see more initiatives like this one leading into the Christmas season.
