RCMP Provides Update on Joe Smyth Complaint

On December 11, the RCMP in this province received a complaint from Joe Smyth alleging political interference by the former Minister of Justice and Public Safety and current Attorney General with respect to a previous charge of obstruction of justice against Smyth that was eventually dismissed by the court.

In the interest of an independent investigation and transparent process, the investigation of the complaint will be led by the RCMP in Nova Scotia, which is currently reviewing the complaint to determine investigative steps.
