RCMP makes arrest in robbery at Botwood Highway Ultramar

RCMP has arrested a 46-year-old Bishops Falls man in connection to a robbery that occurred at the Botwood Highway Ultramar gas station on May 31.

Early in the morning on Monday, Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP responded to the report of a robbery at the Botwood Highway Ultramar gas station.

Surveillance video showed a man had entered the business and demanded money from the cashier before fleeing the area. A short while later, during a traffic stop, police observed that the driver matched the description of the man wanted for the robbery and he was subsequently arrested.

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 22.
