RCMP lay charges in Sheshatshiu fatal hit and run

RCMP has charged 22-year-old Shuashem Andrew of Sheshatshiu in relation to a hit and run collision that claimed the life of another man in the community in March of this year.

Back on March 13, Sheshatshiu RCMP received the report of an unresponsive man found on a roadway in the community. The man was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The deceased was struck by an ATV that had fled the scene.

Andrew is charged with:

• Fail to remain at the scene of an accident

• Dangerous operation causing death

• Criminal negligence causing death

• Fail to comply with condition of release order

• Fail to remain at the scene of an accident

• Operate vehicle in dangerous manner
