RCMP Lay Charges After Hit & Run in Sheshatshiu

Last week Rachelle Rich, Kurtis Somers, Nutin Andrew and Aurora Andrew, of Sheshatshiu, were charged in relation to an investigation into a hit and run that occurred in April.

In the early morning hours of April 23, Sheshatshiu RCMP responded to a report of an injured man who was found laying on the roadway on Beach Road in Sheshatshiu.

RCMP Labrador District General Investigation Section conducted an investigation along with assistance from RCMP officers with Sheshatshiu Detachment, Forensic Identification Services, Traffic Services and Avalon East General Investigation Services.

On October 5, Rachelle Rich was charged with failure to remain at the scene of a collision, public mischief, and various offences under the Highway Traffic Act.

Kurtis Somers, Nutin Andrew and Aurora Andrew are each charged with public mischief in relation to the information that they provided to police during the course of the investigation.
