The RCMP in Nova Scotia has concluded an investigation into a complaint made by Joe Smyth that alleged political interference by the former Minister of Justice and Public Safety, now current Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology Andrew Parsons.

RCMP has concluded that there were no criminal findings.

Smyth was charged with obstruction of justice which was eventually dismissed by the court.

The complaint was received on December 11, 2020, and at the request of RCMP in this province, the investigation was turned over to the RCMP in Nova Scotia to ensure an independent investigation and transparent process.
