RCMP investigating home invasion in Grand Falls-Windsor involving machete

The RCMP is searching for a suspect in a home invasion that occurred early yesterday morning at a residence on Grenfell Heights in Grand Falls-Windsor.

Officers say shortly before 7:30 am on Wednesday, occupants of the home were startled when a masked individual armed with a machete forced entry into the apartment and demanded jewellery.

One occupant hid while the other was threatened by the suspect who eventually departed with a quantity of jewellery.

There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as being approximately 6 feet tall and of a muscular build. He departed in a white 4-door pickup truck, possibly a Dodge.
