RCMP investigating fatal collision on the TCH near Whitbourne

The RCMP is investigating a two-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway that resulted in the death of one individual just before 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

The collision involved a passenger car and an RV on the Trans-Canada Highway near the Route 80 interchange in Whitbourne.

The driver of the passenger car, a 71-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her passenger was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver and passenger of the RV were assessed medically at the scene.

A Collision Reconstructionist with RCMP Traffic Services attended the scene, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been engaged.
