The RCMP are investigating two recent break and enters that happened at the Bargain Shop on Hamilton River Road in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

On February 8, 2021, police received a report of a break and enter in progress shortly after 6:00 a.m. Officers arrived on scene, heard the audible alarm and discovered that the front door was damaged. The culprit(s) had departed prior to police arrival and nothing was stolen. A dark colored SUV, possibly grey in color, was seen leaving the area.

The most recent break and enter occurred on March 12, 2021, between the hours of 6:00-7:30 a.m. Suspect(s) damaged the front door, which activated the audible alarm of the business. A case inside the store containing tobacco products was damaged but access was not successful.

The investigations are continuing.

Anyone with information about either of these incidents is asked to contact Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP at 709-896-3383 or contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (TIPS is 8477).
