RCMP investigating a report of an attempted child abduction in Frederickton
The RCMP is investigating a report of an attempted child abduction in Frederickton.
Police received the report around 7:30 p.m. last night.
A child returned home and disclosed that they were approached by a man in a white van who asked them to get into the vehicle. The man exited the van and spoke to the child further trying to convince them to step inside.
The child rode off on a pedal bike and hid in a wooded area until feeling safe to return home.
The individual is described as having a longer beard, being of a shorter stature with a larger stomach. At the time he was wearing a black hat and was the lone occupant of the van.
The van is described as being white in colour with no lettering. It has two doors on the back with two windows.
Police made an extensive patrol in the area but did not locate the matching vehicle.
