RCMP investigates motor vehicle collision for impaired driving #nltraffic


RCMP in Grand Falls-Windsor is investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Badger on Wednesday.


Shortly after the lunch hour on April 8th, the RCMP in Springdale received reports of a suspected impaired driver. As a result police in the area made patrols looking for the vehicle.


About an hour later there was a report of a two-vehicle collision on the TCH about 30 kilometres west of Badger.


The occupants of one vehicle were trapped inside and were extracted from the vehicle a short time later by firefighters. The driver of the other vehicle, a 51-year-old woman, showed signs of impairment.


Police confirmed that she was the suspected impaired driver that was reported out of Springdale an hour earlier.


All occupants were transported via ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
