RCMP investigates fatal collision on TCH near Bishop’s Falls

RCMP is investigating a collision that occurred between a pickup truck and a tractor trailer on the evening of May 10, on the Trans Canada Highway near Bishop’s Falls.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 41-year-old woman, died at the scene.

A Dodge Ram pickup had departed the eastbound lane of traffic and collided with an oncoming tractor trailer travelling westbound.

The passenger of the pickup truck was transported via ambulance to Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured but taken to the hospital for medical assessment.

The investigation is continuing.
