RCMP Executes Another Drug Seizure in Happy Valley-Goose Bay

RCMP have executed another drug seizure stemming from a traffic stop in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on December 3.
Police observed a truck swerving on Hamilton River Road. The officer conducted a traffic stop and suspected the driver, 24-year-old Peggy Heard, was impaired.
She was taken into police custody and a number of drugs were located on her person.
Police initiated an investigation under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and also arrested the passenger, 37-year-old Joelene Pardy, for possession of a controlled substance.
The truck was searched and seized by police. A quantity of cash, suspected cocaine and items consistent with drug-trafficking were located and seized.
Both women were released by police on conditions and are set to appear in court on March 1.
