RCMP execute search warrant in Stephenville Crossing, arrest man for drug and firearms offences

The RCMP arrested and charged 63-year-old Dennis Critchley after a search of a Stephenville Crossing home last Tuesday.

Police seized a large quantity of prescription pills, including opioids, a loaded firearm, cigarettes and a large quantity of cash.

The accused was charged with six counts of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, and three counts of careless use or storage of a firearm.

He was remanded into custody and is expected to make his next appearance on February 3.

The investigation continues with additional charges possible.
