RCMP Conducts Traffic Stop on Speeder; Driver is arrested on Warrant

The RCMP conducted a traffic stop last Friday, on a vehicle that was travelling twice the speed limit in Small Point and arrested the driver for being at large on a warrant.
Officers observed a car travelling 115 km/h in a 50 km/h residential area through the community.
A traffic stop was conducted and police learned that the driver, a 37-year-old Western Bay woman, was driving without insurance and was wanted on a warrant by the RNC.
She was arrested, ticketed for the traffic violations and turned over to the RNC for a court appearance. Police issued a suspension of her driver’s licence and seized and impounded the car.
