RCMP Conduct Traffic Checkpoints in Bay Roberts Area #nltraffic

Bay Roberts RCMP conducted a number of checkpoints this past weekend and found a number of violations.

One driver was found driving with a suspended licence and was owing about $28,000 in fines.

Police suspected alcohol use and administered a roadside breath test on the driver. The man provided a breath sample that was above the provincial limit. He was issued a further driving suspension and was ordered to attend court to address his outstanding traffic fines.

The vehicle was seized and impounded for 30 days. A passenger in the same vehicle was in breach of his court-ordered curfew.

He was arrested, charged with breaching a court order and was held for a court appearance.

Two other drivers were operating with expired driver’s licences and one driver was operating without valid registration.
