A 23-year old man from St. John's was nabbed by the RCMP after he was clocked travelling 183 km/h on the TCH.

RCMP responded to a complaint from an off-duty police officer who observed a white Dodge Durango SUV passing his vehicle at a very high rate of speed, weaving in traffic and nearly causing a collision on the TCH near Holyrood.

Officers caught up to the driver near Ocean Pond.

The driver was given a $520 fine for excessive speeding, his driver’s license was suspended, and his vehicle was impounded.
